The Layered Garden

CAMPBELL ACT

‘The Layered Garden’ draws you throughout various seating spaces and elevated vantage points, taking in the beautiful Canberra vistas on offer in Campbell. Framed within Sydney sandstone walling, a formal pond becomes the visual centrepiece of the garden, sitting comfortably in an avenue of Ornamental Pears and surrounded with sandstock brick paths and layered plantings.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Many remnant trees are retained throughout the front and rear gardens for shade and scale. Meandering gravel paths wrap through the extensive and intricate garden beds of diverse textures, forms and seasonal colour. In time the mixed plantings of native and exotic plant material will create a haven for local bird life and a constant source of water in the garden will attract native frogs.

Evening garden lighting subtly illuminates the plant palette throughout the front and rear garden areas. While larger floodlights provide key focal points during outdoor entertaining in the upper garden pavilion and covered deck areas.
